Job Description:
We're hiring an Accountant to help assist the organization’s Finance Department in supporting Western Dairyland’s programs. This position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining accurate accounts of agency fiscal operations utilizing knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, GAAP, funding source requirements, and agency procedures. In addition, the candidate will utilize computerized accounting procedures to facilitate precise financial data tracking as required by funding sources and programs including extensive year-end information for financial audits. The candidate will also provide technical assistance to finance and program directors along with maintaining and reconciling accurate inventory records regularly in compliance with funding source regulations.
This is a half-time position located in Independence, WI. Hours are flexible with the possibility of some remote work. Starting wage is $19.78 to $22.15 per hour based on experience. An associate degree in Accounting or Business and 3 years of experience in a financial position are required. We offer a complete benefits package including:

Required Skills:
- Be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Possess great attention to detail to perform with accuracy
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of double-entry accounting procedures, cash disbursements journal, general journal, general ledger, payroll procedures, budgets, and In-Kind
- Have excellent multi-tasking ability
- Have excellent listening skills
- Show ability using Microsoft 365, including Word and Excel
- Maintain the ability to deal with multiple grants, work with detail, adapt to new ideas, and work with varying programs
