Work-n-Wheels
The Work-n-Wheels auto loan program provides vehicle purchase and repair loans to low-income families and individuals. If you have poor credit or no credit, this program may be for you.

Vehicle Purchase Loans
Maximum loan amount = $8,000
Minimum monthly loan payment = $150
Vehicle Repair Loans
Maximum loan amount = $2,500
Minimum monthly loan payment = $75
Initial Costs
These are no-interest loans with a 5% administrative fee paid at the time of loan signing.
Clients approved for vehicle purchase loans are required to pay the tax, title, license, and service fees for the vehicle. These costs are estimated to be approximately $100 for every thousand dollars.
Program Eligibility
- Loans are available to residents of Buffalo, Jackson, Eau Claire and Trempealeau counties.
- Applicants must be employed for 90 days with the same employer before applying and the vehicle must be needed to get to work.
- Applicant must be 18 and have a valid Wisconsin driver license.
- Applicant must provide proof of full coverage insurance prior to receiving the loan.
- Applicant must not have any pending payday or auto title loans.
- No outstanding civil judgments within the past year. If there is a civil judgment, there must be a payment arrangement in writing.
- All legal fines must be paid or a payment plan must be in writing for monthly payments.
- Prior to receiving the loan, applicants are required to complete a financial education class provided by Western Dairyland.
- The Work-n-Wheels program requires participants to register for carpooling via the Wisconsin Rideshare program. If you are approved for a Work-n-Wheels loan you will be asked to register for this program. More information is available at www.rideshareetc.org.
- Further restrictions may apply. Each applicant will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
