Home Repair & Accessibility

The Home Repair & Accessibility program is designed to provide funds for making essential improvements to homes. HUD Housing Quality Standards will be met upon completion of the rehabilitation and improvement work. Services available include:

Septic Systems and Wells
Structural Problems and Safety Hazards
Roofing and Siding
Accessible Ramps & Bathrooms
Energy-related Improvements

To be eligible for this program:

If you live in Eau Claire, Buffalo, Trempealeau or Jackson county but not in the city of Eau Claire, household incomes must be at or below 80 percent of the County Median Income, adjusted for family size.

If you live within the city of Eau Claire, household incomes must be at or below 50 percent of the County Median Income, adjusted for family size.

Financing Terms

A zero percent interest deferred loan payable when:

  • the homeowner vacates the property
  • the property is transferred to any party other than the applicants
  • mortgaged property is no longer occupied fully by the applicants
