Volunteer Drivers
Western Dairyland’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) offers rides to Trempealeau County residents who need assistance getting to and from appointments outside of Trempealeau County.
The program operates through donations and a grant from the Bader Foundation to reimburse mileage to our volunteer drivers. Donations are an important part of the program to make this service available long-term and to show support for the service.
This is a “curb-to-curb” service, which means that participants need to be able to get in and out of the vehicle themselves. We cannot accommodate a wheelchair, but we may be able to accommodate smaller equipment, like folding walkers. Please let the staff know at the time you request a ride if you will have equipment with you.

Request a Ride
To request a ride, call 715-985-2391, extension 1205. You may need to leave a message, but our staff will return your call. During your first call, we’ll ask a few additional questions to register you for the program. After that, we’ll just need the time and location of your appointment, along with an estimate of how long it will take.
Our office hours are Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Please give us 3–4 days’ notice when possible. While we can’t guarantee it, we’ll do our best to find a ride on short notice.
Become a Volunteer Driver
We currently have six volunteers generously giving their time to this program, and we would love to have more volunteers! Volunteers use their own vehicles and receive $0.70/mile. Volunteers are part of AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Program. In addition to mileage, they receive extra liability insurance and recognition.
