Job Description:

Western Dairyland Child Care Partnership department is hiring a full-time Early Childhood & Family Resource Specialist at our Eau Claire office location.

The Early Childhood & Family Resource Specialist is a dual role position responsible for supporting parents, caregivers, and regulated and unregulated child care providers through coaching, training, family resource navigation, and community outreach.  This position will provide high quality technical assistance and training to early childhood professionals and parents while also helping families identify and access quality child care and essential community resources.  The Early Childhood & Family Resource Specialist will foster collaborative community relationships and promote parent leadership and engagement.  All work in this position will be guided by and infused with the Five Protective Factors framework to strengthen families, promote positive child development, and build resilient communities.

The starting wage for this position is $20.92 to $26.15 per hour. This is a 36 hours per week position and the scheduled will be Monday through Thursday.

Essential Functions:

Training & Technical Assistance for Child Care Providers:

 

  • Provide high quality, evidence based training and technical assistance to regulate and unregulated child care providers in various formats
  • Obtain approval to train the Child Care Foundation Trainings, CPR w/ AED, First Aid, and other trainings required for potential and existing providers
  • Provide comprehensive early care and education systems navigation, including warn hand offs to services supporting quality improvement, family supports, and professional development resources

 

Family Support:

 

  • Assist families in identifying and evaluating quality child care, including providing referrals and education on how to choose quality care
  • Champion protective factors integration into all levels of the program and build community awareness of Five for Families and the Five Strengths
  • Provide family centered and strength-based support, helping families connect to appropriate community resources such as housing, healthcare, child development, and financial assistance
  • Facilitate evidence informed parent education programs grounded in Protective Factors and strength-based approaches
  • Plan and coordinate outreach events, family engagement activities, and family support programming
  • Maintain office hours for families to drop in or schedule appointments for assistance
  • Work to increase family’s ability to advocate for themselves and reporting using DAISEY and other required platforms

 

Parent Leadership & Community Collaboration:

 

  • Offer parents opportunities to build leadership skills through participation in program planning, co-facilitation of events, peer mentoring, and advisory roles
  • Build relationships with community organizations, leveraging these partnerships to strengthen referral networks, enhance family support programming, and provide professional development opportunities

 

Program Promotion Outreach:

 

  • Contribute content for newsletters, social media, and promotional materials to increase awareness of services and events
  • Facilitate community presentations highlighting available services, family resources, and child care quality initiatives
  • Represent Child Care Partnership at community events, including workforce/job fairs, and community collaborations

 

 

Reporting & Data Management:

 

  • Collect, track, and report data for both family resources and early childhood programming using established tools and databases (Salesforce, DAISEY, etc.)
  • Document success stories, participant feedback, and outcomes to contribute to program improvement and reporting to funders

 

Qualifications:

  • Can create reports, business correspondence, and update manuals to reflect program changes
  • Possess a willingness to maintain office hours and work evenings & weekends
  • Have the ability to travel throughout the service delivery area, statewide and nationally as required

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early care & education, human services, sociology, social services, or a related field
  • Preference will be given to bilingual staff who:
    • 3 + years’ experience in early childhood working with infants and toddlers
    • Are comfortable with public speaking and group facilitation
    • Possess the drive to be a lifelong learner for ongoing professional development

 

Licenses, Certifications, Authorizations Required:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have an insured vehicle
  • Must meet WDEOC’s insurability requirements
  • Approvable Criminal Background Check
  • Annual Registry Certificate
