At Western Dairyland, our staff helps those at-risk and those who are experiencing homelessness reclaim their lives by providing assistance, offering opportunities for housing and self-sufficiency, and restoring hope and dignity.
We currently have an opening for a full-time Prevention Specialist on our team. The starting wage is $17.32 per hour. This position will work closely with the team and those who are housing challenged to ultimately identify, secure, and maintain permanent housing.
Responsibilities of this position include conducting assessments, creating plans, making referrals, advocating for our participants, coordinating services, and working with our team and other agencies to assist with housing opportunities. If you have excellent problem-solving skills, are able to multi-task, have excellent listening and communication skills, and are knowledgeable with computers, this could be the job for you.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field. Previous experience working with landlords and low-income populations, and have knowledge about fair housing laws is helpful, although not required.
