Housing Administrative Assistant

We are hiring an Administrative Assistant within our Housing & Family Services Department. This position is part of the homeless services team. As such, this position will assist with all aspects of the different housing programs including program intake, conducting assessments, performing building inspections, ensuring leases are up to date and within the program guidelines, contacting landlords, assisting case managers with program activities, and other duties as they arise. We are seeking someone who works well as part of a team. The appropriate candidate will have great initiative, and a desire to help others.
Applicants must be team-oriented, creative, and understanding of the causes, needs, and challenges of the homeless population. Applicants must also be able to multi-task, have strong communication and customer service skills, be detailed oriented, be comfortable working with the public (in person and over the phone) and have excellent computer skills.
Job responsibilities include clerical and office support, data entry, project coordination, manage and maintaining administrative records, maintaining data collection, create program purchase orders. Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Education experience would include 1-2 years post-secondary training in relevant fields and 2-4 years’ experience performing similar duties.
