WERA Program Manager

Job Description:

WDEOC is a non-profit Community Action Agency dedicated to alleviating poverty-related conditions in western Wisconsin. Founded in 1966, we operate more than 20 unique programs for low-income families and individuals, including:

  • Head Start & Early Head Start
  • Homeless Services (Housing First, Homeless Shelters, Rapid Rehousing)
  • Child Care Partnership (Resource & Referral, YoungStar, Food Program)
  • WHEAP Energy Assistance
  • Weatherization & Home Rehab
  • Fresh Start (Youth Development)
  • Business Development (Women's Business Center)
  • RSVP Volunteer Program (Volunteer Caregivers, Birthday Boxes, Weekend Food 4 Kids & much more!)
  • Transportation Programs (Work-n-Wheels, Paratransit Certification)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Western Dairyland has been granted funds to operate the Wisconsin Emergency Rental Assistance (WERA) program. This program is short term and only expected to last the duration of 2021. 

We're hiring a WERA Program Manager to oversee the WERA Team in Buffalo, Clark, Eau Claire, Jackson and Trempealeau Counties.  Primary duties include:

  • Implement the WERA Program according to guidelines established by the funding source
  • Supervision of WERA staff, with previous supervisory experience necessary
  • Coordinate services for participants
  • Learn and follow program regulations and policies and procedures of Western Dairyland
  • Coordinate with community resources
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Other WERA management duties as assigned

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Project Management or something similar, with 3-5 years’ experience supervising staff, and 2-3 years of experience working with low-income populations.  This position is based out of our Eau Claire and Independence offices. The starting salary is $44,443 based on experience. We offer a complete benefit package, including:

Licenses, Certifications, Authorizations Required
