Frequently Asked Questions

Am I eligible for Western Dairyland programs?

Most of Western Dairyland's programs have income restrictions based on the federal poverty guidelines (view the guidelines here). Each of our programs has specific eligibility criteria that may change from year to year. If you're unsure of your eligibility, contact us.

I was interested in a program, but it's no longer available. Where did it go?

While some of our programs have been around for decades, others are available for a limited time either by design or due to funding changes. Contact us if you can't find the program you're looking for.

What is the official name of your organization?

Our official name is Western Dairyland Economic Opportunity Council, Inc. We are part of a nationwide network of Community Action Agencies, so you will often see our name presented as Western Dairyland Community Action Agency.

How are you funded?

Through competitive grant applications, Western Dairyland receives funding from federal, state and local resources. We also receive donations from local organizations and individuals.

Do you have a board of directors?

Yes. The agency is governed by a 24-member Board of Directors comprised of eight income-eligible constituents, eight County Board Supervisors, and eight members representing private groups and organizations.
