Western Dairyland Energy Conservation Program is a federally
funded program to help eligible families improve the energy efficiency
of their homes, thereby reducing energy costs. Weatherization services
vary with each home, depending on how it was built and its current
condition. Common weatherization services include installing attic
and sidewall insulation, sealing major air leaks, repairing and/or
replacing furnaces, caulking and repairing inefficient windows and
doors, adding weather-stripping, insulating hot water heaters, plus
other energy conserving activities.
Western
Dairyland Home Rehabilitation operates with the energy conservation
program for homeowners. The program provides basic home rehabilitation
services that address health and safety concerns including, but
not limited to, wiring, plumbing and some structural items.
Who may be eligible?
If you received Low-Income Energy Assistance (WHEAP)
benefits during the last heating season, you are automatically eligible
for weatherization services. Persons with high heating costs who
receive LIEAP benefits will be given priority for weatherization
service. You may also be eligible, regardless of your income, if
a member of your family has received Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families (TANF)
or Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Eligibility for weatherization services isn't limited to homeowners.
If you are a renter or live in a mobile home, duplex, or apartment
building you may also qualify. When applying, you will need to provide
proof of ownership. If renting, we'll need your landlord's name
and address.
