| Promoting the well-being of families with young children is the
mission of Western Dairyland's Child Care Partnership Resources &
Referral program. The program focuses on furnishing parents, child
care providers, and local businesses with assistance in the all-important
effort to make certain all children have quality care. The program
serves clients from all income levels. The past year, CCPR&R was
instrumental in keeping a child care facility open in Black River
Falls. When the owners of the only child care center in the area offering
care for infants, announced it was closing, the CCPR&R staff got
busy. They visited the center to determine child care needs in Jackson
County and what help there might be for start-up and /or expansion
needs. They encouraged the owners of the building to remodel to meet
licensing requirements and keep the day care open as a service to
the Black River Falls Community.
"High
quality child care is not merely a fringe benefit for working parents.
Quality child care provides employers with employees who are able
to work at their optimum potential----without worrying about what
is happening while they are away from their child." Dotty
Lillo, CCR&R Director.
