The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is funded by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service and administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The CACFP reimburses participating child care providers for the cost of nutritious food served to children in their care. The program provides training in proper nutrition, meal planning, developing good eating habits, and healthy attitudes about food. Western Dairyland is an approved CACFP sponsor for family day care serving children in Barron, Buffalo, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, La Crosse, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, St. Croix, Trempealeau, and Vernon counties. There are no income guidelines for this program which is available only to regulated day care providers.
